Results (16th & 17th May)

Greetings amigos,

For much of the 2025-26 season, it appeared unlikely that we would get any late drama in the title race, as Mr Stewart-Jones opened up a sizeable advantage ahead of the chasing pack. Alas, bit by bit, point by point, Mr Moore has made gains to such an extent that SJ will be more than checking his shoulder down the final straight. Phil outscored our leader by 7 points to 4 to bring himself to within a point of the summit. The equation for the final weekend of fixtures is simple: barring something outrageous from those in third and below, if Phil outscores SJ by 2 points he will win his first title in 5 years and the third of his career to date, having not been in top spot since the end of August. From SJ's perspective, his spot-ons record gives him a marginal amount of extra breathing room, and therefore scoring a point fewer than Phil this weekend will almost certainly deliver him a record-breaking 6th domestic title.Time will tell! Elsewhere the drama is somewhat less palpable: Mr Raistrick top scored with an impressive 11 points, Mr Luke and Mr Crinnion scored 5 and I scored 4. Mr O'Callaghan appears to have gone into hiding after his failure to submit predictions earlier this month, whilst Mr McClay and Mr West have long been on the beach.

Any mistakes let me know, final fixtures of the season to follow.

Take it easy,

Danny
