The Soares Cup: Matchday 5

Greetings amigos,

The business end of the group stage and the point at which some managers start making their plans for their upcoming semi-finals.  Adam completed a thoroughly impressive unbeaten group stage by edging out Theo W 5-4 to take his total to an unassailable 10 points at the top of Group C and book his place in the semis in the process.  In Group A, Phil joins Ad in the knockout stages and he does so without the inconvenience of a game - Lucozade's convincing 7-2 win over Ben means that MD can't be caught.  It was a damaging result for Ben, as he will now not make it out of his group, as his 4 points will not be enough to take the best runner-up spot.  In Group B myself and SJ played out a tense 5-5 draw (with SJ equalising with the last game of the weekend) which leaves the group completely wide open going into the last game between SJ and Nick next month.

Any mistakes let me know.  Matchday 6 will take place during the weekend of 2nd & 3rd February.
