Results (25th May)

Greetings amigos,

As the confetti was swept away and the dry ice subsided from the celebrations to mark my Soares Cup triumph back in 2012-13, little did I know that the winning feeling would be quite so elusive during the next phase of my Predictio career. 4,403 days have passed since then, which garnered 5 runner-up finishes in the domestic league, a hat-trick of final defeats in The Soares Cup and a Euro Championship second place to boot. Many commentators, most even, questioned whether or not I could get over the line again. Until this season, when I finally proved that I'm not destined to be forever the bridesmaid - step forward the groom.

This week I continued my pretty pathetic late season form with a paltry 4 points, but it was sufficient to protect my lead at the top of the table and to win my 5th domestic title by a 13 point margin in the process. Had the season been a month or so longer, Mr O'Callaghan can rightly feel that he may have reeled me in - his 7 points were more than sufficient to secure the final monthly silverware of the season, the 31st of his career to date - congratulations amigo! - and the runners-up spot. To complete the picture, Mr Stewart-Jones scored 8 points, Mr Crinnion 7, Mr Luke 6 and Mr Raistrick 3. Mr McClay, Mr Moore and Mr West took their summer holidays a week early.
