Results (20th & 21st May)

Greetings amigos,

The final weekend of the season saw some of the customary high scoring results as many teams were already on the beach and there for the taking.  Mr Crinnion was the most successful in correctly predicting the resulting scorelines with an 11 point haul, whilst Mr Raistrick was 2 points behind him on 9, which was enough to win the final MotM Award of the season and the 10th of his career to date - congratulations Jamine!  Elsewhere Mr Luke scored 8 points and I scored 6.  Last but certainly by no means least, Mr Stewart-Jones scored 7 points.

SJ officially lifted the Predictio League trophy as the final whistles sounded around the country on Sunday, but in truth this was merely a formality after a season of dominance at the top of the table.  Following a huge haul in November the reigning league champion produced a very solid performance over the festive period and held onto his position at the summit for the remainder of the season, ultimately winning by a very convincing 30 point margin over myself - incredibly, the same margin by which he won the 2015-16 title (ahead of Mr Luke that time).  May I take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Stewart-Jones on his third domestic title - a massively impressive performance.  Congratulations amigo!

May I also take the opportunity to thank all managers for taking part in the 2016-17 season.

Any mistakes let me know, enjoy your summers!

Take it easy,

Danny

Results (13th & 14th May)

Greetings amigos,

The penultimate round of fixtures of the season produced a mixed bag of results. Mr Raistrick and Mr Moore led the way with 12 points apiece, whilst I was a couple of points behind them on 10 - just a point separates the three of us at the top of the final monthly race of the season.  Kudos also to Mad Dog, who correctly predicted the outcome (if not the score) of every fixture - that would have made a handy accumulator!  Elsewhere Mr West and Mr Stewart-Jones scored 8, Mr Luke 7, and Mr O'Callaghan and Mr Crinnion 5 each.  SJ takes a 29 point lead into the last weekend of the season, meaning that I will need to set a record weekly tally to get anywhere near closing the gap.

Any mistakes let me know, fixtures sent yesterday.

Take it easy,

Danny

The Soares Cup: Final

Greetings amigos,

This weekend saw the staging of the sixth final of The Soares Cup, contested by Nick and SJ.  Nick was looking to secure his first major silverware since 2013-14, whilst SJ was looking to win an unprecedented back to back domestic double.

The game was always going to be a tight affair, and so it proved.  Going into the final game of the weekend the managers were tied on 5 points apiece; all eyes were on Stamford Bridge and the game between Chelsea and Middlesbrough.  SJ had gone for a 2-0 Chelsea win, whilst Nick stuck his neck out with the more expansive 3-0 prediction - he'll be very happy that he did, because the spot-on won him the 2017 Soares Cup!  Congratulations amigo!

Final:  SJ  6 v 8  Nick

Thanks to all managers for taking part in the competition and once again, congratulations Nick!

Take it easy,

Danny

Results (6th & 7th May)

Greetings amigos,

A weekend that saw some surprising scorelines produced a mixed bag of performances.  Mr Crinnion top scored with 8 points and sits at the top of the monthly table as a result.  I was one behind him on 7, whilst our champion in waiting Mr Stewart-Jones scored 6 points, a tally that was matched by Mr West.  Elsewhere Mr Moore and Mr Raistrick scored 4 points, Mr O'Callaghan 3 and Mr Luke 2.

Finally, after a lengthy contract negotiation spanning 9 months, Mr Raistrick announced the addition of Holly Ada Raistrick to his backroom staff - on joining the Raistrick team Holly boasts zero experience of football, or indeed of the world, so she's well equipped to be more than a match for the members of the Predictio community!  Congratulations amigo - fantastic news, and I'm sure the managerial contingent will all join me in sending their best wishes.

Any mistakes let me know - fixtures to follow.

Take it easy,

Danny

Results (29th & 30th April)

Greetings amigos,

Mr O'Callaghan is finishing the season very strongly - his recent upturn in form continued this time around as he top scored with 10 points.  Adam's efforts were not enough to catch Mr Stewart-Jones in the monthly race, as SJ's stunning start the month (and 6 points this time around) were enough to secure him his fifth monthly award of the season (and the fourteenth of his career to date - congratulations amigo!).  Elsewhere Mr Raistrick scored 9 points, I scored 8, Mr Moore 5 and Mr Crinnion 2.  Mr Luke, Mr West and Mr McClay took a week off.

Any mistakes let me know - fixtures to follow.

Take it easy,
