Results (18th & 19th April)

Greeting amigos,

This week did not see a repeat of Mr O'Callaghan's outstanding level of performance last time around - it was Mr Stewart-Jones and Mr West (who scored 10 points apiece) who set the weekly pace.  Next in line was Mr McClay with 7 points, with Mr Luke and myself on 6, Mr Moore and Mr Raistrick 5, Mr O'Callaghan 4 and finally Mr Crinnion 3.  All of which means that the table is tighter than ever, with just 18 points separating the top 8 managers and 4 separating the top 4.  The monthly race looks to be between 4 managers with Mr O'Callaghan currently in pole position.

Any mistakes let me know, fixtures to follow.

Take it easy,

Danny

Results (11th & 12th April)

Greetings amigos,

Anyone still in any doubt that the 2014-15 season is playing host to the most crazy title race we've ever seen will surely now be convinced of this fact following this weekend's results.  Mr O'Callaghan ignited his season with the best individual performance of the season so far as he amassed a phenomenal 6 spot-ons within his 20 point haul - his best ever week and the first time anyone has notched 6 spot-ons from just 10 matches - I doff my cap to you sir!  After spending most of the season in the bottom 2 Adam is now in 7th, but more importantly he is a mere 16 points from the top of the table, which doesn't seem like such a big gap given his latest performance.  Mr Moore - another manager staging a late sprint for the title - scored 11 points to within 10 of the lead.  Top spot is now inhabited by myself after I scored 10 points - another strange twist as it's the first time I've been top all season and I've yet to win a monthly award (in fact, 3 of the top 4 managers are in the same boat).  Elsewhere Mr Stewart-Jones scored 8, Mr Raistrick 7, Mr Crinnion 5 and Mr Luke 4.  Mr McClay and Mr West failed to submit predictions.

Any mistakes let me know - fixtures to follow.

Take it easy,

Danny

The Soares Cup: Semi-Final 2nd Leg

Greetings amigos,

The second legs continued the theme of the first in producing 2 very close encounters.  I triumphed over Adam 8-5 to take the tie 14-10 on aggregate, whilst Ben and Theo L played out a 4-4 draw, which was sufficient to take Ben to his first Soares Cup final following his 6-3 win in the first leg (winning 10-7 on aggregate).

So, it shall be myself and Ben who will contest the final of The Soares Cup 2015, which will be played during the weekend of 2nd May.

Take it easy,

Danny

SF1:  Danny  (6)  8 v 5  (5)  Adam
(Danny wins 14-10 on aggregate)

SF2:  Ben  (6)  4 v 4  (3)  Theo L
(Ben wins 10-7 on aggregate)

Results (4th & 5th April)

Greetings amigos,

The first set of games of the home straight of the season after the international break produced a low scoring affair in the main, although Mr Moore is quickly becoming the manager to watch.  Given MD's low league position for the vast majority of the year it would be an astounding achievement if he were to make a late challenge for the title, but following his 12 point haul whilst the pace setters struggled he is 14 points off the pace.  The fact that Phil lies in 7th place demonstrates just how tight the race for the title is this year.  The other beneficiary of low scoring was myself, as I notched 8 points and jumped to 3rd place in the process.  Elsewhere Mr O'Callaghan scored 5, Mr Raistrick, Mr Stewart-Jones and Mr Luke 4, Mr Crinnion and Mr West 2 and Mr McClay failed to submit predictions.

Any mistakes let me know - fixtures to follow.

Take it easy,

Danny
